Capital with Hebrew inscription “Yeshiva of Geon Ya’akov,” Gush Halav, 11th-13th century. The style of the lettering, the content and the historical background indicate a date from the eleventh to the thirteenth centuries CE. The inscription most probably refers to one of the last Geonim-leaders of the Jewish community in Eretz Israel during the Middle Ages, whose title was Rosh [Head of] Yeshivat Geon Ya'akov.
