Eshtemoa Silver Hoard found by Ze’ev Yeivin in 1968. The hoard dates to the time of King David. According to 2 Samuel 24, David purchased the site from Araunah the Jebusite for 50 shekels of silver (at the time the shekel was a weight, not a coin).
